Terms and Conditions
Before your dog can be treated at Tazza's Canine Hydrotherapy, you will be asked to read and sign a copy of these terms and conditions, feel free to look through them here too:

The right to refuse treatment:
-
We reserve the right to refuse treatment to your dog.
-
Dogs with open wounds, parasites (such as fleas) contagious conditions such as ear, eye or skin infections will not be treated.
-
Bitches in season will not be treated until season has ended.
-
If a cause for concern arises in treatment or before the session (for example a new lameness for which they have not been referred) you will be asked to return to the vet for assessment. This may mean that we refuse treatment or reduce their session as needed.
-
Dogs with a history of growling or snapping may be asked to wear a muzzle. A muzzle is nothing to be ashamed of or stigmatised, it is for the safety of your dog as well as the therapist. It may be that treatment will have to be strictly hands off and limited physical assessment can be carried out, however we reserve the right to refuse treatment if the dog’s behaviour is unmanageable in the clinic setting.
Payment and fees:
-
Sessions must be paid for on the day of treatment, either via cash or card. If BACS is necessary, it must be paid for before the session time.
-
Defecation in the treadmill will incur a surcharge of £80 on top of the session fee due to having to waste the treadmill water and perform a deep clean, therefore cancelling any following appointments. If your dog is prone to incontinence, we may ask that they wear a canine nappy whilst in the tank.
-
Same day cancellations will be chargeable in full.
-
An administrative fee of £10 will be incurred for claims processing.
Your responsibilities:
-
Do not feed your dog for at least 3 hours before a session and at least 1 hour once home from your appointment. This is to reduce the risk of bloat or GDV, which can be a fatal condition.
-
Owners must notify the clinic if the vet has advised that treatment be delayed or stopped for any reason.
-
Dogs must be kept on the lead outside and around the clinic at all times for the safety of dog, owner and other pedestrians. Once inside the clinic, the dog may only be allowed off lead once the therapist has advised it is safe to do so.
-
If other dogs or children are brought to the appointment, it is the owner’s/parent’s responsibility to monitor them and ensure they are kept under supervision at all times, ensuring to not distract or disrupt the appointment with our patient.
-
If you are running late to an appointment, we ask that you let us know as soon as possible. The session will run until it’s prearranged finish time, this means we may have to cut your dog’s session short to ensure our following appointments run as scheduled
-
Floors in and around the centre may get wet, please ensure sensible footwear and be mindful that you may also get wet.
-
We may advise certain changes at home to ensure a better recovery or to help improve the outcome of your dog’s treatment, however as hydrotherapists we cannot provide any home exercise plans. We ask that you see a physiotherapist if you would like to add to your rehabilitation plan in this way and inform us of the plan that they have put in place for your dog so that we can work together towards your goal.
-
It is your responsibility to inform us of any behavioural concerns, reactivity or bite history.
-
The time allotted for your appointment is 45 minutes, but please be aware that this 45 minutes includes the pre-hydro health check, post session shower and drying, and also for the therapist to write up your session notes and ensure the floor is dry and clean before the next client.
-
Sessions run back-to-back and we have no reception area in the clinic, so be mindful that if you arrive early for your appointment there is a chance that we may still have a dog in the clinic, and so for the safety of all dogs and people, we ask that you please wait in your car until called into your session.
Photography:
-
We may ask to take photos or videos of your dog in or outside of the aquatic treadmill, these may be for our reference in monitoring the progress of your pup, or we may use them to post on social media. Please ensure you let us know if you would like to opt out of this.
