Osteoarthritis

Did you know osteoarthritis affects 80% of dogs over the age of 8, and up to 35% of dogs of all ages? Osteoathritis is a progressive and chronic condition where the cartilage of a joint slowly breaks down, though it does effect all structure within the joint, which can lead to complete joint failure if not managed. It is true that OA is referred to as a senior dog's disease, however young dogs can also be affected by OA, particularly as a secondary condition if said dog suffers other joint conditions or injuries.

To many owners the onset of OA is inevitable for our older pets, but that absolutely does not be mean that it can't be managed. With the right medications, supplements, and complimentary therapies, we can add many more comfortable years to the lives of our geriatric dogs. Pain from arthritis is by no means something we settle with just because we believe it's inevitable.

Hydrotherapy can help to keep our arthritic dogs more comfortable for longer and slow the worsening effects of osteoarthritis.
